CHECK-IN & PARKING
Check-in between 2pm and 9pm. Check-out by 11am. No check-in/out on a Saturday. Cars are either parked on your pitch (Gabil Meads Campsite only) or parked away from the campsite.
FIRE PITS
Each pitch comes with a fire pit, and firewood and charcoal are available to buy from The Hub. Bring your own grill for the fire pit – an oven shelf usually fits perfectly.
DOGS
Our beautiful site is home to much wildlife and is managed to protect it, so sadly no dogs are allowed (they’re welcome in our cafe, The Hub).
OFF-GRID
We’re an eco-site so the campsites are off-grid with no electric hook-up, and no wifi. In our onsite cafe we have charging lockers and wifi.
GROUPS
You can book up to five pitches together in our general campsites. If your group is booking separately, put a note on each booking with GROUP – *lead booking name* and we’ll make sure you’re pitched together.

Cost Per Night
£25 per pitch per night + £4pppn adult, £3pppn child (3-18). Under 3s are free.
Two-night minimum at weekends and school holidays, three-night minimum on bank holidays.
Breaks can start and finish on any day except Saturday, and Sunday on a bank holiday.
A 30% deposit secures your booking, with full payment due 60 days before your holiday start date.
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

£10 per night per pitch. (A pup tent is a very small tent for an extra child or storage, not for a dog!). Max one per pitch.

Campsites
Spacious fields, dark night skies, beautiful views, and access to the pretty River Rother. Pitch in our general campsites, Gabil Meads & Poplars, or if you’d like more than five pitches together we have two private riverside campsites.
Read More
The Poplar Site and Gabil Meads are our general campsites for individual pitches and groups of up to 5, staying in tents and small camper vans. These sites share a communal loo and shower block by The Hub as well as a little eco loo on each campsite for convenience.
We manually do the pitch allocation. So when you book with us make sure to put a note if you’re part of a group (up to 5 pitches) and we’ll pitch you together.
Private Hire for Groups
Our two private hire sites Udiam & The River Site are available on exclusive hire for up to 60 guests. Each site has a large covered area as well as its own wash hut with showers & loos, BBQ and campfire. Contact us to book or find out more on 01580830932 or info@original-huts.co.uk.
All our sites have quiet policies, are off-grid, and dog free.

Pitches are allocated to best meet the needs of all those camping with us. If you have a preference or are traveling with a group please mention this in the notes section when you book so we can pitch you together.
There is a fire bowl for each pitch (they don’t have a grill on them but an oven shelf usually fits well). We sell sustainably sourced local wood, charcoal kindling and firelighters at The Hub, our onsite cafe. Fire safety regulations are strictly enforced and during extremely hot or dry weather we reserve the right to restrict permissions to use campfires.
We allow tents up to 6m x 4m. Drop us a line if your tent is bigger than this so we can allocate you the right pitch. Pup tents (small tent, not for dogs!) and gazebos can be added for an extra cost.
SHOWERS & TOILETS
Each campsite has an eco loo (not plumbed into the mains) and up by The Hub cafe is a communal shower and loo block with hot and cold water, plus washing up station which is plumbed into the mains. Everything is cleaned regularly.
Glamping – Bell tent HIRE
We work with three local glamping companies who offer beautiful, pre-pitched, naked or fully-equipped bell tents. Please book your bell tent directly with them. Check availability with Rent Event, The Happy Glamper or White Dog Events then book your pitch with us and confirm with them.
If you’re after a step up from a tent, we have fully-equipped Shepherd’s Huts nestled in ancient woodland….
FACILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Bodiam is a hidden gem with great activities for the whole family.
Onsite
The River Rother runs through our site, and if you’re staying with us self-launch is included. Or you can hire a paddle board, kayak or canoe from our onsite partner, Epic Life. They also do axe throwing and archery. Our cafe, The Hub, is open daily with pizza and cocktail nights during the summer. And beside The Hub you’ll find RiambaDamba Sauna, plus our Wild Spa hut with gorgeous treatments.
A Short Walk
National Trust Bodiam Castle is just a short walk through our campsite along the river, and the Kent & East Sussex Railway is at the end of our land, with trips between Bodiam and Tenterden. There’s beautiful walks from our site – just ask for details – and our Days Out page has details of 100s of activities, attractions and great places to visit.
